EG-26 Microwave Receiver

The companion instrument to the Transmitter, this unit utilizes a Schottky diode mounted in a die cast microwave cavity and horn. Using a horn and cavity gives much higher overall sensitivity and directionality so that stray signals are rejected. The output of the diode is amplified by a high gain amplifier and displayed on a meter mounted on the top of the case. An amplifier gain control and a zero setting knob are provided. A pair of banana jacks are mounted on the case so that signal modulation can be displayed on an oscilloscope or amplified by an audio amplifier.

EG-24 Microwave Transmitter

This microwave source consists of a solid state Gunn diode in a die cast cavity connected to a rectangular horn. The horn has a pattern width of about 15° with vertical polarization. The cavity is tuned to 10.5 GHz and has an output of 8 mW.

The Transmitter can be amplitude modulated using a pair of banana jacks, and has a self-contained, 12 Vdc regulated power supply for stable output. The horn is mounted within the case for protection and radiates with vertical polarization.
