EG-07 Ultrasonic Transmitter

The Ultrasonic Transmitter generates a 40 kHz sound wave which can be used to demonstrate diffraction and interference of sound waves. This signal can be amplitude-modulated to illustrate aspects of signal transmission. The wavelength is roughly equal to the EG-24 Microwave Transmitter so that the wave analogy between sound and electromagnetic waves can easily be demonstrated.

EG-08 Ultrasonic Receiver

The companion instrument to the Transmitter, the Receiver is mounted with the transducer at the same height above the table top. The output is amplified and measured on a meter mounted on the top of the case. A gain control is provided to adjust the signal strength. Signal modulation can be observed on an oscilloscope by connecting to a phone jack on the case.
