The original Chaotic Pendulum was driven by DOS Software. The experiment ran nicely but had some limitations that have become more significant as time has past. The position data was entered into the computer by a slot card which is very large for conteporary computers. In addition the computer had to be booted in DOS taking extra time that could be better spent collecting data.

By adapting the USB port as the input channel these limitations can be avoided. An Interface Box must be added between the Pendulum and the USB port to make the necessary connection.

The prototype is running now.
